What information is being collected?

As part of this study, we have asked you for information about your age, the area where you live and how safe you feel it is, your gender identity, ethnicity, your crime history and perception of crime, your mental health status, resilience, your values and how you feel about your own ability.

Why is it being collected?

We are collecting this data for a number of reasons. 

Personal Information such as your age, gender identity, ethnicity and the area where you live, as well as, your crime history and perception of crime, is being collected to ensure that we are speaking to the right people for our project criteria and in order to make sure our campaign is representative of the people who live in Greater Manchester. 

For sensitive information, you will have the option to select ‘prefer not to say’, should you want to. 

Who is collecting it?

Hitch marketing are a social marketing agency currently undertaking a research project on behalf of Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) (https://www.hitchmarketing.co.uk).

How will it be used?

The data will be analysed and will help support our campaign to reduce violent crime in Greater Manchester. 

Any data that Hitch gives GMCA will be anonymous. 

It is optional for you to leave your contact details with Hitch at the end of this survey, but no contact details will be shared with GMCA. 

Any data shared with any other organisations will be completely anonymous and will not be able to be linked back to you in any way.

How long will it be kept?

We will keep your data for 18 months following the completion of the project and then they will be securely destroyed. 

How will it be stored?

Your details will be stored digitally on our secure server. Any hard copy of data will be kept in a locked filing cabinet when not being used for analysis purposes. It will continue to be stored there for 18 months following the completion of the project.  

Your right to anonymity.
