Gary is an experienced strategic marketer, planner, social researcher, business coach and entrepreneur.
His 20-year career has been a blend of marketing agent, public health commissioner, charity worker and social activist. He’s created an award-winning portfolio of behavior change projects over the years, from localising national campaigns in community settings, to co-designing services to inform and transform international transport and humanitarian brands.
Gary oversees Hitch’s key project and client portfolio, supporting the team to create and deliver services that produce success.
Finance and Operations Director
Sarah is a Co-Director overseeing finance and operations.
A community development expert and social marketing practitioner, Sarah specialised in youth work with marginalised groups. She established a regional office for a national charity working with NEET young people, and led collaborative community projects in Merseyside and Bristol.
Sarah keeps Hitch bouncing along by completing VAT returns and keeping suppliers, staff and the bank happy. She supports with community engagement and manages the Hitch Fund – a fund dedicated to social innovation and local causes.
Director of Behaviour Insights
Nick is a qualified Market research and Behaviour Insight lead with a 24-year career.
With a background in psychology and human behaviour, Nick is an experienced research-practitioner, using qualitative and quantitative data collection and psychology to inform behaviour change strategies, communications and policy design.
Nick is responsible for managing all research and evaluation projects at Hitch, informing award winning campaigns such as #getchecked for Hertfordshire County Council, and has helped Hitch grow into the Transport Sector via clients such as Arriva Trains UK and TfGM.
Head of Digital Innovation
Dave ensures digital projects run smoothly, liaising between clients and our technical team to produce winning digital outputs.
Whilst studying Digital & New Media, Dave also became a youth mentor on the National Citizenship Service scheme, helping teenagers to develop their interpersonal skills.
As Digital Manager, Dave delivered websites and applications for Northern Railway, the Education and Training Foundation and the Dry January campaign. He also delivered social media seminars on the impact of digital tools in social marketing and the effects these platforms can have.
Now as Head of Digital Innovation, Dave leads our digital team to assist our clients in all things Digital.
Head of Client Services
Holly has a proven marketing communications record spanning three decades.
Having worked at major, blue-chip retailers (Safeway, Littlewoods Index) and hotel chains (Best Western Hotel, Holiday Inn), Holly has planned and delivered a number of award-winning marketing communications campaigns. She has experience across the whole mix including design, print, digital and advertising.
One of the earlier members of the Hitch team, Holly has used her expertise to help shape marketing strategy and promote the great work that Hitch does.
Saoirce is a behaviour change communications specialist with over 8 years’ experience of working on complex behaviour change projects with hard-to-reach groups, mainly in the public sector such as the Home Office and the Department for Transport.
At Hitch, Saoirce manages some of our biggest accounts including a project to increase young people's resilience in Kent and a serious violence reduction project with Greater Manchester Combined Authority. Saoirce is experienced in digital targeting methods, developing strategies and on-going monitoring and evaluation of projects.
Amelia is our Senior Consultant and has been responsible for developing strategic behavioural change campaigns for a variety of clients through campaigns, visual identity refreshes, activation and experiential launches.
Her experience in building brand awareness, and consideration in audiences through research-led insight informed her approach with Active Travel for Liverpool City Region Active Travel, Wake Up for North Yorkshire County Council and It’s my Fight for Derbyshire County Council. Her strong and knowledgeable history in traditional marketing and advertising is supported by her knowledge of research design and theoretical understanding to deliver excellence for her clients.
Charlotte has recently been promoted to the role of Research Manager within Hitch’s behavioural insight team, specialising in qualitative research.
After graduating at the top of her class, Charlotte worked with young people with special educational needs and disabilities, before joining Hitch to evaluate Alcohol Concern’s Dry January campaigns since their inception.
Charlotte has already put her capacity for unique insights and keen eye for detail to good use at Hitch in a number of projects, including evaluations for TLC: Talk, Listen, Change and Transport for Greater Manchester.
As a graduate in Design for Communication Media (Graphic Design) Steve brings with him a vast amount of experience gained from working in the creative and financial service sectors. Having worked with a wide range of high-profile brands, from premier football clubs to prestigious airlines, Steve is now relishing the challenge of creating eye-catching, compelling and engaging concepts for the clients and campaigns that Hitch Marketing specialise in.
Steve is passionate about design and the power that a simple headline and image can do to provoke behavioural change.
Charlotte is our Consultant who specialises in PR support.
Past customer service experience, in Beauty and Cosmetics and with Emirates Airlines, allowed Charlotte to experience different cultures and work across a wide spectrum of social contexts.
Following impressive stakeholder engagement support increasing sign-ups to Alcohol Concern’s Dry January campaign, Charlotte started working for Hitch as Account Coordinator. Currently, she’s using her tireless enthusiasm managing and running events to get results for clients including Camden and Islington Councils and Arriva Trains.
Dan is our Digital Manager keeping up our strong tradition of delighting clients with all things online.
Having graduated with a CIPR-Accredited Business and Public Relations degree, he has since moved into the world of Digital for the past 8 years, implementing new website designs and builds on a multitude of systems, creating user & customer journeys and actionable reports for web and email platforms as well as managing social media accounts and campaigns for brands across the UK.
At Hitch, Dan is the Digital lead for many of our accounts and is always ready to offer our clients a positive, solutions based approach to any campaigns that come through our doors.
Junior Content Producer
Mike is a Junior Content Producer channelling the analytical and creative skills he developed studying classics into the world of social marketing. An apprentice fresh out of university, Mike is enthusiastic about encouraging positive social change and has already had the chance to work on campaigns spanning various fields. Mike is deeply focused on improving conditions for those around him in the community and uplifting those facing hardship.
Mike has already worked on campaigns focusing on suicide prevention, alcohol harms and developing resilience in young people, contributing to multiple social media channels including the Draw Your Own Solution Instagram page. His role has covered not only the production of content, but also helping conduct research across various departments. A quick learner happy to take on a new challenge, Mike is looking forward to his future with Hitch and continuing to help make the world a better place through his work!
James is a research executive with a background in consumer psychology and experience working in Public Health.
Whilst studying a master’s degree in consumer psychology James developed a passion for all things behaviour change.
James is responsible for collecting and analysing insight which is used to inform the development and add value to behaviour change campaigns, as well as liaising with clients to meet their needs.
Tinna is a Quantitative Analyst for Hitch.
She has a BSc degree in Psychology from Reykjavik University. Some of her career highlights include working with a psychologist who was treating insomnia for cancer patients, and computing a research study on volunteers working in Indonesia. Tinna has previously worked as a researchers’ assistant, where she was working with a team of computer scientists, for which got a nomination from the president of Iceland for an award for ‘Research and Innovation’.
