Citysafe

Citysafe is a community safety partnership, the aim of which is to reduce crime and the fear of that crime in the city of Liverpool. With its partners, Citysafe builds safer communities for everyone who lives and works in Liverpool.

The Brief

Citysafe commissioned us to undertake a complex needs assessment concerning street drinkers and the wider stakeholder community in Liverpool City Centre.

The Approach

We undertook an extensive scoping and stakeholder consultation exercise over a two-month period, which included a range of online and face-to-face market research and evaluation activities. The project informed intervention and service development options to serve the growing and varying needs of the street drinking community, in an effort to reduce crime, improve health, and maximise resource.

We gained insight from qualitative research and on-street observation, stakeholder engagement, and residents surveys. This insight was then used, alongside secondary research, to provide a detailed document outlining the complex needs of street drinkers within the framework of multi-disciplinary delivery.

The Results

The project informed commissioners on practical steps concerning impact measuring, provided process and data capturing recommendations, and suggested solutions concerning future intervention design and focus.

“Many thanks Gary to you and the team for your excellent presentation yesterday. It was extremely helpful and will inform our work in a very immediate way. What more can you ask for when you do a piece of work like this?”
